In 1999, I received my PhD in Operations Research from Cornell University. My thesis on "Scenery Reconstruction" was written under the supervision of Harry Kesten. Since then, I developed two mathematical subfields related to information recovery from a noisy signal: Scenery Reconstruction and Optimal Alignments of random texts. Current work is on problems in NLP, Machine Learning and AI. I am currently associate professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, SoM and part of the ML (Machine Learning) faculty.
